Summary of Submission

The Revenues and Benefits service was restructured in April 2020, creating three new service areas: Customer Relations, Debt Management and Service Development. This enabled the creation of career graded posts and made staff feel valued, motivated, and improved performance. Our team is stronger than ever and we are committed to developing each member of staff.

Our 220 strong team are led by strong management, and each member of staff has contributed to our success. The team is dedicated to delivering outstanding services for our residents. We treat our customers with passion and empathy and aim to make a difference, whether helping those in financial crisis or responding positively to the challenges of COVID-19.

The Council is the top performing unitary authority in 2020/2021 against our four neighbouring authorities for the collection of council tax and business rates, a significant achievement whilst also delivering Covid grants to businesses and residents.
