DCC has continued its inspirational journey and transformed itself into a leading authority to fight against fraud, embedding a culture of fraud being everyone’s business, having full support from senior management and members.
Fraud & Corruption is included as a Corporate Strategic Risk and our continuous Fraud Communication Plan and Campaign, as well as the collaboration with the Durham Partnerships, have helped our success. We are not standing still and are already planning the next part of our journey. We are one of the first local authorities to lead a cohort with the Counter Fraud Apprenticeship and will be the first local authority to lead a Fraud Pilot under the Digital Economy Act.
Through positive collaboration and partnerships, innovation, and best practice at the forefront, we will continue to invest in counter fraud. With our plan to ‘grow our own’ team, we believe we deliver a first-class counter fraud service.
