When doing a job, you have the choice to either be average and tick the days over or you can choose to be great at it and become a specialist in your chosen field. I fall within the latter group, hence completing my IRRV Level 3 qualification as a start. Being an inquisitive person, I had way more questions than answers when I started working in Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates. This qualification has given me the answers I needed to not only understand the work I do, but to be able to translate this information into layman terms for a customer asking.

Thanks to this qualification I am confident when attending liability order hearings as I am armoured with legislation and knowledge which I would not have had a couple of months ago. We all know the essentials to tick over the day-to-day questions, however having in-depth knowledge of the legislation governing those answers gives you the edge to do your job well.

The added bonus of this qualification is that you have the choice to study via distance learning. This was my preferred method of studying as it accommodated my very busy schedule. You have the freedom to choose when you want to study and when you want to sit your exams. Distance learning not only gives you access to online resources, but it also gives you direct access to tutors who are industry leaders.  The knowledge they share during their online sessions are probably the driving force to attend. I would not have passed my exams without their support and insight.

Even if you think you know everything, having maybe worked in the industry for 20 years, I can guarantee you that you will soon come to find there is still plenty to learn. This course is a must do for anyone wanting to upskill themselves or refresh their understanding of the field. Honestly, just do it. You will not regret it.
