Summary of Submission

Basildon Council and Brentwood Council have a shared Revenues & Benefits service working as one team.  The Benefits and Welfare team administer Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and Discretionary payments. The Outreach & Engagement Team support our customers across both boroughs.  

The Outreach & Engagement Team provides practical and emotional support to customers that need help and assistance and are unable to cope with financial, health and wellbeing problems. The team are empowered to provide residents with the support, advice and confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem. This is a unique arrangement to provide outreach across our two borough’s, in hard-to-reach areas. We make positive contributions to our residents and provide critical, life changing support on a daily basis.
