Minister questioned on DWP’s preparations for changes in the world of work

The Work and Pensions Committee inquiry looks at some of the possible medium and long-term changes likely to affect the workplace and how the DWP needs to prepare to support people both in and out of work. This week’s session is an opportunity to raise with the Minister some of the issues heard throughout the inquiry.

Previous sessions have focused on the impact of automation, as well as how to ensure particular groups such as young peopledisabled people and those from BAME backgrounds are properly supported in the workplace. The Committee has also taken evidence from employers and businesses and on the benefits and drawbacks of a Universal Basic Income.
