Update: 20 February 2023 Guidance for electricity suppliers updated with an explanation about how to treat the VAT attached to the £150 Non-domestic Alternative Fuel Payment payment.

This guidance is provided by Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to support electricity suppliers to deliver the Alternative Fuel Payment (ND AFP) to eligible customers.

The ND AFP is a scheme which forms part of the government’ cost of living assistance package for non-domestic consumers over winter 2022 to 2023. The ND AFP provides non-domestic users of alternative fuels with a £150 payment. For identified eligible customers with a relationship with a non-domestic supplier, this will be delivered by electricity suppliers in February and March 2023. These customers do not need to apply for this payment.
