MPs debate motions on the police grant and local government finance reports

MPs debated the Police Grant and Local Government Finance Reports in the House of Commons on Wednesday 22 February.

 

Police Grant

Motion for debate

"That the Police Grant Report (England and Wales) for 2017–18 (HC 944), which was laid before this House on 1 February, be approved."

The Motion was approved by 275 to 179. The vote was subject to a double majority and MPs representing constituencies in England and Wales voted to approve the Motion by 269 to 173.

Local Government Finance Reports

Motions for debate

"That the Report on Local Government Finance (England) 2017-18 (HC 985), which was laid before this House on 20 February, be approved."

This Motion was approved by 269 to 158. The vote was subject to a double majority and MPs representing constituencies in England voted to approve the Motion by 253 to 141.

"That the Report on Referendums Relating to Council Tax Increases (Principles) (England) 2017-18 (HC 983), which was laid before this House on 20 February, be approved."

This Motion was approved without a division.

"That the Report on Referendums Relating to Council Tax Increases (Alternative Notional Amounts) (England) 2017-18 (HC 984), which was laid before this House on 20 February, be approved."

This Motion was approved without a division.
