Details

These monthly experimental statistics include the total number of people who:

  • have made a claim for Universal Credit to 12 April 2018
  • have made a claim and have attended an initial interview, accepted their claimant commitment, and gone on to start Universal Credit up to 12 April 2018
  • are on Universal Credit to 12 April 2018

The statistics are broken down by:

  • Jobcentre Plus office
  • age
  • employment status
  • conditionality regime

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is currently investigating a discrepancy with duration on Universal Credit. While we assess the scale of this issue we have removed this breakdown from Stat-Xplore. Caution should be used when viewing this breakdown through other mechanisms (such as supplementary tables).

After investigation of data on Jobcentre Plus offices, it was discovered that there are some instances of incomplete Jobcentre Plus office data from January 2018 to April 2018. This has affected a limited number of claims in offices where Universal Credit has not been fully rolled out. Although this has now been resolved, there is no reliable method for recovering the missing data, therefore Jobcentre Plus office data between January and April 2018 should be treated with caution. Action has been taken to ensure that this does not re-occur.
