The Institute is pleased to announce this years Collection & Enforcement Conference will take place on the 25th and 26th April 2012 at Keele University, Staffordshire.
The first day will consist of two streams; one Local Taxation and the other Miscellaneous Income. The Local Taxation Stream will include sessions on the reform of Council Tax, Local Support of Council Tax, Avoidance / Evasion of Empty Rate and Retention of Business Rate whilst the Miscellaneous Income Stream will include sessions highlighting the importance of this source of income to local authorities. The second day will focus entirely on the Consultation Paper ‘Transforming Bailiff Action’ recently published by the Ministry of Justice; the consultation period of which ends on the 14th May 2012. The morning will consist of ‘The Great Enforcement Debate’ with workshops running in the afternoon that look separately at key aspects of the consultation paper: Overall Reform’, ‘Fees’, ‘Training’ and ‘Regulations’. Each session will be run twice to enable delegates to attend two of the workshops.
An exhibition will support the conference on both days with a Conference Dinner held on the Wednesday evening for residential guests.
