The Government has announced that it has extended the appointment of Anne Galbraith OBE as Chairman of the Valuation Tribunal Service (VTS) until 31 March 2012.
The Chairman of the VTS has been appointed in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments' Code of Practice. She will receive £57,408 and is expected to give 3 days a week to her role as VTS Chairman.
Anne Galbraith OBE
Anne Galbraith was first appointed as Chairman of the VTS Board in 2004. She is currently a Non Executive Member of the NHS Business Service Authority, as well as being a former Member of the Council on Tribunals. She is also Chairman of the Council of Durham University.
Anne receives £7,881 per annum for a time commitment of twenty days per year as a Non Executive Board member of the NHS Business Services Authority.
All appointments to the VTS are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity to be made public if any is declared. No declaration has been made.

Peter Lawton - Deputy Chairman of the VTS and VTE Chairman - appointed until March 2011
Ian Tighe - Member of the VTS - appointed until March 2011
John O'Shea - Member of the VTS and VTE Chairman - appointed until March 2011
Ronald Barham - Member of the VTS and VTE Chairman - appointed until March 2011
Margaret May - Member of the VTS - appointed from 1 April 2010 until March 2013
Professor Graham Zellick - President of the Valuation Tribunal for England - ex officio member of the VTS.
