Summary of Submission

This award submission demonstrates a sustained improvement across all areas of the Revenues service.  

The team has achieved this through the introduction of a new, improved Council Tax portal, replacing existing online forms with the use of API’s to automate back office transactions and reviewing the way they communicate with customers. 

By applying the Citizens Advice Collection Protocol to Council Tax and Business Rates, strengthening partnerships with advice agencies, and making sure customers are referred for wider financial advice, they are putting people at the heart of everything they do. 

Using their own data to target resources and listening to customer feedback they have been able to optimise effective pro-active collection strategies, allowing them to manage debt collection in a more ethical way contributing to the community’s wellbeing.
