Course background
Aim: The workshop is ideally suited to staff who manage a benefits service and aims to show attendees how to analyse their caseload using the SHBE and CTR data extracts. This will be a fully interactive workshop and it would be beneficial if attendees would bring a laptop and their SHBE and or CTR 606 extract.

- How it can be used to target work to remove waste.
- SSSC shortfalls and DHP
- Incomes on non passported claims
- Safeguard to allow full automation of UC incomes
- Measuring interventions activity and outcomes
- Creating your own reports
- Tracking change and spotting issues
- Identifying customers in need of additional support
- Free School Meals
- Funded Nursery for 2 year olds
- Missing Severe disability premium
- Low Tax credits and State Retirement Pension
- Pensioners who may require income maximisation support
- How can this be used within the benefits service?
- How can the information be used to meet wider local authority objectives?

Presenter
The course will be facilitated by Paula Doherty. Paula is a leading benefits practitioner, the IRRV Education Liaison Officer and President of the IRRV Scottish Association Executive. Paula is also Chair of the IRRV Welfare Reform Consortium.
Fees

Programme Changes And Cancellation / Rescheduling Of Events
The Institute will make every effort to give delegates as much notice as possible of any programme changes or the cancellation / re-scheduling of an event. However, it does reserve the right to make changes to advertised programmes and to cancel / re-schedule events. In the unlikely event of an event being cancelled / re-scheduled, either a full refund will be made or alternatively, any fee paid will be credited against a future booking.
VAT And Cancellations
VAT will be applied at the current rate. Cancellations two weeks before course date will be charged at 50%. Cancellations after this date will be charged at 100%. A substitute attendee is allowed at any time at no extra cost.
