The live tables provide the latest, most useful or most popular data, presented by type and other variables, including by geographical area or as a time series.
Capital forecast and capital payments and receipts
These live tables contain data derived from quarterly returns and the first annual forecast figures from local authorities. The tables present the latest available summary or detailed data relating to these inquiries.
The tables contain essential data supplied to the Office for National Statistics and HM Treasury. The data are used in compiling the National Accounts and the Public Sector Finances. The tables are updated as soon as new or revised data become available (hence the word ‘live’ is used).
Tables and detailed notes and definitions are grouped and can be found by area. The contents of our flagship publication Local Government Financial Statistics provide annual estimates consistent with the quarterly estimates published here.
Please note that the live tables do not include all of the data items we collect. All other topic based information such as statistical releases and reports can be found on the DCLG statistics page.
Receipts of Council Taxes
This live table provides the latest data available on receipts of Council Taxes collected during a financial year in England. The information in this table is derived from Quarterly Return of Council Taxes and National Non-Domestic Rates Returns (QRC1-4) submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government by English local authorities.
The quarterly information is used in the local authority components of the National Accounts compiled by the Office for National Statistics. The table is updated as soon as new or revised data becomes available. Local authority level data will be made available once a financial year is complete.
Firefighter pensions
The firefighter pensions live tables provide the latest data available on Firefighter Pension Schemes income, expenditure and membership in England. The information in this table is derived from Fire Fighter Pension forms submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government by fire authorities. The table is updated as soon as new or revised data becomes available.
Borrowing and investment
The borrowing and investment live tables provide the latest data available on local authorities’ outstanding borrowing and investments for the UK. The information in this table is derived from the monthly and quarterly borrowing forms submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government by all local authorities. The table is updated as soon as new or revised data becomes available.
Highway maintenance expenditure on a non FRS 17 basis
This table contains data derived from local authority returns providing information on net current expenditure on highway maintenance for 2006 to 2007, 2007 to 2008 and 2008 to 2009 on a non FRS 17 basis. Notes and definitions are also provided.
