These monthly experimental statistics include the total number of people who:

  • have made a claim for Universal Credit to 9 August 2018
  • have made a claim and have attended an initial interview, accepted their claimant commitment, and gone on to start Universal Credit up to 9 August 2018
  • are on Universal Credit to 9 August 2018

The statistics are broken down by:

  • Jobcentre Plus office
  • age
  • employment status
  • conditionality regime

This month’s publication also includes statistics for households on Universal Credit up to 14 June 2018, showing the number of households and average monthly award amounts broken down by:

  • Jobcentre Plus office
  • entitlement components
  • payment indicator
  • family type
  • tenure

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is currently investigating a discrepancy with the data on duration on Universal Credit. While we assess the scale of this issue we have removed this breakdown from Stat-Xplore. Caution should be used when viewing this breakdown via other mechanisms (such as supplementary tables).
