The following message was sent to local authorities 26 February.
Dear authority,
We wanted to share an update with you on how work is progressing on ATM sites
You may recall that to manage the volume and flow of ATM cases in the 2010 and 2017 Rating Lists we divided the work into four categories:
Type 1: 2017 List – Removal of ATM site from 2017 Rating List (Checks & IPPs).
Type 2: 2010 List – IPPs to remove the ATM site from the 2010 Rating List or reduce the RV to a nominal figure
Type 3: 2010 List - In general 2010 IPPs against the RV of host stores.
Type 4: 2010 List – Redundant 2010 IPPs to be withdrawn once the substantive issues are resolved
Type 3 discussions are progressing well and the process for dealing with these is now well established, however dealing with these can be more complex due to the required sequencing of multiple appeals on the same property and considering TR certs. It is anticipated that the vast majority of cases will be cleared the end of September, with any cases that remain requiring a hearing by the Valuation Tribunals.
On Type 4 appeals, surplus cases are now beginning to be withdrawn, however some agents for the appellants seem keen to ensure all work (including Type 3s) has been completed before agreeing to withdraw.
We hope this is a helpful update. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Kind regards
