Details

The FRS is a continuous household survey which collects information on a representative sample of private households in the United Kingdom.

Detailed information is recorded on each respondent:

  • their incomes, from all sources including self employment
  • housing tenure
  • caring needs and responsibilities
  • disability
  • expenditure on housing
  • education
  • pension participation
  • childcare
  • family circumstances
  • child maintenance

We have also published a background note, and accompanying data tables in XLS and ODS format.
