. Gordon Brown met local business leaders in North Cumbria today, where he outlined plans to get banks to make an additional £70 billion available for lending.
During a visit to the head office of the Carlisle-based Eddie Stobart Group, the PM said agreements with some banks had already been made, and discussions were progressing with others, to ensure credit would start flowing again.
