This publication shows the number of claimants (single or joint adult households with any dependent children or young people) affected by the policy to provide support for a maximum of two children and eligible for a positive Universal Credit or Child Tax Credit award on 2 April 2021. They include statistics relating to the exceptions to the policy.
New geographical breakdowns of the headline statistics are included in this year’s release. The additional breakdowns provide information about the number of households affected by the policy broken down by region and local authority. Statistics relating to the exceptions to the policy are broken down by region.
