On 14 March 2022 the Secretary of State announced that the ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme would not affect the council tax status of sponsor households.
This Council Tax information letter confirms that the government has now put measures in place to ensure that this is the case. These include making regulations to maintain households’ council tax discounts and exemptions and making a set of Ministerial Directions to protect entitlement to local council tax support.
