The Commissioners’ second report to the Secretary of State will now be submitted on 10 June 2022 rather than April 2022.

In a letter to the Secretary of State the Commissioners detailed their desire to delay the submission of the second report from April 2022 to 10 June 2022. The Commissioners describe how the intervention is at a pivotal point and that the additional 2 months will allow the second report to further detail Liverpool City Council’s improvement journey. The Commissioners highlight that with the extension 2 reports on Liverpool City Council will have been delivered within a year.
In his response, the Secretary of State endorses the extension and highlights how crucial it is for the Commissioners to be able to assess the progress being made at Liverpool City Council.
