This report summarises research by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), conducted to gain a better understanding of employers views and behaviours on Automatic Enrolment (AE) and Defined Contribution (DC) Pension Schemes.
The purpose of this research was to explore the role employers play in supporting their employees to save into their pension or emergency savings, to understand how employers view pensions within the overall benefits package, and why they may contribute above the minimum amounts required under Automatic Enrolment. The research was also conducted to explore employers views of Automatic Enrolment following the pandemic, and help inform decisions on future Automatic Enrolment contributions and coverage.
This research complements our evidence base on workplace pensions by providing an insight into the employers views and behaviours.
