Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government wishes everyone a merry Christmas.
Eric Pickles said:
The national holiday that we enjoy this Wednesday is a reminder that the Christian faith is at the heart of our nation and our national life.
We should feel proud to mark the special importance that the Christmas story and the birth of Jesus hold.
It’s rare to find a quiet hour in our busy lives, let alone a whole day, that we can dedicate to reflecting and spending time with our loved ones.
I wish you all a peaceful and very merry Christmas and a happy 2014.
