Interactive tool providing data on housing supply for local authorities in England
This page provides data on housing supply for local authorities in England. Data is available on housing stock broken down by tenure, net supply of new housing, and supply of affordable housing.
Note on local authorities: Several new local authorities were created on 1 April 2019 by merging existing local authorities together. We have created totals for these new local authorities for each year by adding together figures for the areas that preceded them. You can also choose to see statistics for pre-2019 local authorities for the years that they existed.

Figures are rounded to the nearest ten for housing stock data. Totals may not sum due to rounding.
Data is reported by location. This means that some local authority housing in a given local authority may be owned by a different local authority. Likewise, new affordable housing supplied in a local authority may occasionally be sponsored by a different local authority.
We aim to update aspects of this dashboard, in line with data releases from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, but the data shown here may not be the latest available. MPs and their staff can contact the Commons Library with queries about updates.
