If you are having to make people redundant there If you are thinking about making redundancies, check the business support that is available to see if you can avoid or limit the need, through the financial support on offer from the government.
However, if you do need to let people go there is help and guidance available and a range of things you can do to support them during a difficult time.
Redundancy: help finding work and claiming benefits
You can help people to identify a range of transferable skills and experience to help them secure employment in other sectors. For example, someone with customer service experience could use those skills in a social care setting. Anyone with a driving licence could potentially work in the logistics sector.
Signpost your employees to Find a job, where there are a variety of vacancies available across a range of sectors and job help for advice and tips on finding work.
Your employees can also check the Jobcentre Plus national and local Twitter accounts for the latest vacancies.
Checking vacancies in these sectors could be a good place to start:
