Detail

On 5 December DWP announced plans for the next stage of implementing Universal Credit. These steps continue our progressive approach to test, learn, and implement as we deliver this flagship programme, and we will apply that same approach to the development of the Local Support Services Framework.

This publication sets out how we will work together with local government associations and authorities over the next year. We will test different arrangements for partnership working, financial management, the effective delivery of front line services and other specific aspects of the Local Support Services Framework. It also sets out what local authorities and Jobcentre Plus District Managers can do to prepare. This includes strengthening existing partnerships and building new ones, identifying resource opportunities and sharing good practice.

We will publish another Local Support Services Framework in autumn 2014.
