Detail

This guide provides information about how the requirement to look or prepare for work may be affected if a Universal Credit claimant has a dependency on drugs and/or alcohol.

It includes:

  • how Universal Credit allows time and space to support recovery
  • how any treatment being received can be reflected in the Claimant Commitment
  • how receiving treatment can delay the requirement to look or prepare for work to help the recovery process

Part of the Universal Credit toolkit for partner organisations.
