Detail

Spending power measures the overall revenue funding available for local authority services, including Council Tax, locally retained business rates and government grants.

The 2 spreadsheets contain the following information:

  • summary tables showing year-on-year change in spending power for each local authority and spending power per dwelling for local authorities for 2015 to 2016
  • supporting information showing the components figures (from Council Tax, locally retained business rates and government grants) which are included in spending power for each local authority for 2015 to 2016

The explanatory note sets out the methodology used to calculate the change in spending power in 2015 to 2016.
