As part of the ‘Everyone In’ initiative, approximately 15,000 people who were sleeping rough, in unsafe communal settings or at imminent risk of rough sleeping have been placed into emergency accommodation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Next Steps Accommodation Programme makes available the financial resources needed to support local authorities and their partners to prevent these people from returning to the streets.
This guidance contains an overview of the Next Steps Accommodation Programme. It provides details of what can be funded as part of this programme and how the fund will work, including practical information on submitting bids.
There are two proposal templates: one for local authorities, combined authorities and registered providers of social housing outside of London; and one for local authorities in London. Further information on submission of proposals will be provided ahead of the submission deadline on Thursday 20 August 2020.
