Correction notice
Due to a processing error, July numbers were not presented in Tables 2 and 2.1, and the figures in Table 8 for July covered the wrong period. This update has been published to correct this. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Release information
This statistics release contains the latest data on monthly company and individual insolvency (companies and individual people who are unable to pay debts and enter formal procedures).
Statistics are presented separately for England and Wales , Scotland and for Northern Ireland in this release.
Main messages
Companies insolvencies
- There were 955 company insolvencies in July 2020.
Individual insolvencies
- There were 1,621 debt relief orders and 913 bankruptcies in July 2020.
- In three months ending July 2020 there was a monthly average of 7,322 registered individual voluntary arrangements .
