Find out how different employment conditions affect your employee's eligibility for the Job Support Scheme for both JSS Open and JSS Closed.

The Job Support Scheme, which was due to start on 1 November 2020, has been postponed as the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is being extended until December.

Different employment conditions affect you employee’s eligibility for the Job Support Scheme.

Find out if you can claim, if your employee:

  • has more than one job
  • is on or has just returned from statutory parental leave
  • gets Maternity Allowance
  • is ending maternity leave early to claim through the Job Support Scheme
  • goes on sick leave while on the Job Support Scheme
  • is on a fixed term contract
  • is an apprentice
  • does volunteer work
  • does training
  • stopped working for you after 23 September 2020 and you then rehire them
  • has been transferred under TUPE and or a change in ownership
