Summary:
This consultation seeks views on whether there should be a statutory upper limit on any administration fees that housing authorities may wish to charge when offering equity loan or equity share arrangements to assist leaseholders with the payment of service charges. It follows the introduction in the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008 of provisions enabling housing authorities to offer such arrangements. Regulations on the provisions came into force on 6 April 2009.
